🦚 You don’t have to be a peacock to benefit from colour analysis.
I recently attended the Colour Me Beautiful Annual Conference. It offered an opportunity to catch up with consultant friends, ‘stir the pot’ of creativity and receive colour and style trend updates. The room was like a larger than life aviary. 🦜 Beautiful and varied plumage; red with leopard print, every shade of blue known in the universe and a regency level of pearls. I was wearing a fitted black t-shirt, vintage jeans and my ride and die thrifted Coach leather boots. What I would call my style uniform.
I felt completely sh*t. Just for the briefest of moments. I felt inadequate as a colour consultant amongst the multicoloured menagerie of my peers.
And then I remembered. Who I am and how I like to dress. Minimal. Casual. I like clean lines and to feel at ease in my clothes. I had turned up as my authentic self. I was also wearing one of the colours in my palette. As a ‘deep’ it just so happens to be black!
So what was the point of sharing this moment?
You don’t have to be a Trinny Woodhall, Margot Robbie Barbie or the next Iris Apfel to participate and enjoy colour analysis. You don’t have to wear all the colours in your swatch wallet. But it is a very good idea to know what works for you and what doesn’t. I move with ease and confidence throughout my life, knowing that the colours I have in my wardrobe make me look 💯.
